| The Prophecies of the First Advent of Jesus Christ

| The star out of Jacob | Num. 24:17; Mt. 2:1-13; Most likely this `star' was a flock of angels since a real celestial star can hardly come low enough nor be there for some sometimes and not other times to direct people to a particular dwelling. Herod and his people never heard of that star before the wise men arrived. The Bible emphasizes that angelic activity was high at the time of the birth of the Messiah and actually during his whole ministry and that of the apostles. When believers are in tune with God, such divine support can happen even today. The Bible teaches when we obey all of the commandments, His Spirit can dwell in us, Isa. 48:12-18; Zech. 7:9-14; Romans 8:6-11; 1.Cor. 2:10; 1.John chapter 4. |

Notes & References 01) Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300 different prophecies. These many prophecies to be made in such a varied form, by so many prophets, many of them living in different times and places, is the Bible's way to let us know that God's Word is true. The chance for one man to fulfill only 8 prophecies is about 1:1017. 02) That Moses wrote of Jesus and his mission can be seen by reading the scriptures cited from his writings. 03) Jesus Christ was the only person to conquer death by rising from the dead. All others like Mohammed and Buddha went to their graves and stayed there. 04) Christianity provides a simple means to obtain forgiveness of sin through faith in Jesus Christ. Other religions know very little of forgiveness, and are systems of rules, laws, and works. 05) The Bible provides an explanation of beginnings. 06) It makes a clear definition of right and wrong, and gives an explanation of the origin of sin and death. |
